High-quality accommodation and care for your beloved cat.

Welcome to Chestnut Cattery
An established and purpose-built Cattery.
Welcome to our tranquil and picturesque accommodation, situated in the heart of the stunning UK countryside. Nestled in a peaceful location next to the beautiful Forest of Bere, our site offers a serene and calming environment for your beloved cats to enjoy.
Our building is a bespoke timber log cabin replica, complete with full-length Perspex windows which allow natural light to flood in. We understand that the right environment is crucial for your cats’ happiness during their stay, and at Chestnut, we have taken every care to ensure they feel right at home.
Our accommodation lodges are equipped with a dedicated exercise area, featuring durable, hard-wearing flooring and a raised sleeping box and a high shelf with a window for your furry friend to stretch out. We also provide heating to ensure your cats’ comfort throughout their stay, with temperatures set between 18-22 degrees Celsius.
``At Chestnut, we take great pride in providing a warm, welcoming, and comfortable environment for your cats to stay. We look forward to welcoming you and your feline companions to our peaceful retreat soon.``
Stacy Groom, Manager
A comfortable and enjoyable stay!
Providing the highest level of care for your cat.
At Chestnut, we provide a comfortable bed and bedding for your cat’s stay, but we encourage you to bring items from home that will help your cat feel more relaxed and comfortable during their stay with us. A familiar blanket, for example, that carries the scent of home, can be very reassuring to your cat. We also recommend bringing any favourite toys that encourage your cat’s normal behaviour, as these can provide additional comfort and entertainment.
Our staff members are dedicated to providing your cat with attention, affection, and treats during their stay. We understand that each cat has a unique personality and needs, and we will tailor our care to accommodate your cat’s individual preferences. Some cats may prefer less interaction, and we will respect their space and provide a quieter, calmer environment as needed.

The Pantry
Every mealtime matters!
We are delighted to offer wet food every morning and evening, with dry food available throughout the day. Fresh water is also provided at all times, ensuring your cat stays hydrated and healthy during their stay with us.
We understand the importance of following your cat’s established routine, and we will happily adhere to any guidance you provide. Simply let us know your cat’s feeding schedule and preferences, and we will ensure they receive the same level of care and attention they receive at home.
If your cat has special dietary requirements or prefers specific types of food that we do not stock in our pantry, please provide us with the required amount of food to cover the duration of their stay. We recommend allowing for an extra day’s worth of food in case of any unexpected travel delays.
Playtime and Exercise
Plenty of activities to enjoy.
While we do not provide toys or scratching posts, as we cannot guarantee that they can be thoroughly washed and disinfected, we do encourage you to bring your cat’s own scratching post from home. This will not only help your cat feel more at ease, but it will also help protect our furniture and fixtures.
Health and Wellbeing
Providing the highest level of care.
We monitor your cat’s health throughout their stay with us. In the unlikely event that your cat becomes unwell during their stay, we have a dedicated isolation unit on site where they can be monitored closely. The unit is fully equipped with a sleeping box, exercise area, and heating to ensure your cat’s comfort and well-being.
If your cat requires veterinary attention, we will contact your chosen vet in the first instance. However, if necessary, we may seek medical care from our dedicated vet, Animed Vet, located on Botley Rd in Shedfield, SO32 2JG. We will contact you immediately to inform you of any health concerns and will seek your permission before any veterinary care is provided.
We ask that you provide a carrier box for transporting your cat to and from Chestnut, and it is your responsibility to ensure that the box is in a safe and secure condition for this purpose. Please be aware that the full cost of any veterinary treatment required during your cat’s stay with us will be your responsibility as the cat owner. We will ask you to sign an agreement to this term on drop-off, and this term is unchallengeable.
